Invest Better in Health Sector: ACOMIN Tasks FG
The National Coordinator, Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, Mr. Ayo Ipinmoye stated this during a workshop for Stakeholders and Executives of selected Civil Society Groups in Ado Ekiti on the Covid-19 RM/RSSH CSS project.
The participants are expected to form a State Advocacy Team that would engage relevant stakeholders and the community on health-related issues such as Gender Based Violence, Response to Human Rights among others.
Delivering a paper, Mr. Ipinmoye explained that the advent of COVID-19 exposed the deficiencies of the country’s health system and also showed that the country was not prepared.
According to him, the numbers of casualties recorded during the Covid would have been minimal if the health facilities were well equipped with the necessary facilities.
He noted that the Advocacy team would be going out to create awareness of the need for all stakeholders in the health sector to play their roles at ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
